Morocco – Day 7: Sands to Snow

Marrakesh is an oasis in the middle of very dry, very hot terrain. On the ground, it’s 24°C(75°F), in December.
Less than one hour away is Oukaimeden, in the mountains. On the ground, it’s 0°C(32°F); at the peaks, it’s -4°C(25°F).This is our drive up the mountains, and what we saw along the way (click for higher-resolution images). No comments, just photos.

Wow – thank you. Many years ago I sailed from New York to Casablanca on a Yugoslavian freighter and took the bus up to Tangier before crossing into Spain and heading for a six-month stay on Formentera in the Balearic Islands. That piece of map brings back memories.
