GoodWill Means Kindly Feeling
The past week has been mostly adjusting back to school life. Considering the ease of classes here–at least, compared to GW–that’s not much of a problem. My wallet’s thanking me for not making any more trips out to Akihabara, by the way.
So about the Osu field trip… We went to GoodWill. No, not the used clothing shop… This GoodWill Means Kindly Feeling. It’s a huge electronics shop in Osu that I have a feeling–once my bank account recovers from Tokyo–I’ll be hitting up again. I’m in the market for a nice MP3 player that I can afford without selling my limbs; the Nomad’s looking pretty sweet. So yeah, the presentation was just this morning, and we got everything done, no worries. Even threw in the dramatic u‚µ‚©‚µv and a GoodWill logo (American one) with a big batsu beside it.
Beyond that, there’s a bit of good and bad news. The good news is that yesterday I finally contacted my previous host family. Insha’Allah I’ll be able to see them next Sunday. …It’s been four years since I last saw them, and until I contacted them last November/December, it was about two-three years since I spoke with them. I’m definitely looking forward to that. The other good news is that, as luck would have it, another one of my friends from that time is back in Japan, near Nagoya; so I should be able to meet up with him sometime soon. Likewise, it’s been over four years since we last saw each other.
The bad news… well, Onigiriman-sensei, one of my favourite professors I’ve ever had, is quitting his blog. You should read it yourself if you’re curious as to the reasons, but I shouldn’t discuss it at length here (and, notice the new Onigiriman Rocks ring over to the left). He’s likely one of the reasons why half the GW-Nanzan students have Xanga accounts. If you’ve never read it I suggest going back and taking a look at some of his past articles; he’s about that lighthearted in his classes, despite them being not the least bit easy.
Anyway, I’ll close off for now. I’ll likely make another post after the weekend’s up. KF

Whatya mean I’m light hearted? I’m mean, you see. And I give lots of quizzes, you see, and… and… whew, I think I’ll revert, that’s exhausting… But don’t tell them to read past posts. Tell them to go to the JAJournal instead! I even have a new entry there.
I fear for my bank account when I am (hopefully) at Nanzan. Having your one obsession being shiny gadgets and new technology is … troubling. Ala tree in box kanji style.
Ease you say? Ease? are the professors really that nice?
I really like your page….fun to read!
sorry about your housing! that sucks, i would be soo pissed right now, but aston shouldn`t be that bad, or you can opt to be on the waiting list, i`m sure you might get a better room, gw is inviting people back on campus just to fill all the beds!
